Officer Anne Ward is the Domestic Violence Officer and can provide a vast amount of information to persons seeking information whether they are victims or not. Officer Ward can also provide information on how abuse victims can obtain the necessary protection ordered by the court system otherwise known as protection orders.

It is defined as the use of physical, emotional or sexual force to control or maintain power over someone. It involves frightening or intimidating someone over a period of time. Abuse and battering includes:
- A pattern of behavior
- A lack of respect for others feelings, rights, property and bodies
- Damage, abuse and violation of another person's mind and or body
